- MEET HUNTER NIDA -
My grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Nida, grew up near Perry in Orlando and Sumner. Two years after they married, they bought a farm northeast of Perry. My dad, Gary, was raised there with his 2 brothers We still own the “home place.” It is where my wife and I will build our new house to raise the fourth generation of Nida’s.
I grew up in Oklahoma City where Dad was a veterinarian, and Mom was a teacher. Perry was only an hour away, and we made frequent trips to see my grandparents and spend time at the farm. My grandfather taught me skills from his work as a farmer, rancher, carpenter, county assessor and vice president of the Exchange Bank in Perry. I developed a strong interest in crops and animals, which led me to Oklahoma State University and a degree in Animal Science.
Finally, after wearing various management hats over the past 20 years, I am happy to be the owner of Noble County Meats in Perry. My wife, who grew up in a small town in the Texas panhandle, is excited about the business as well and has been an integral part of getting the business established. She is an RN and has served in the Air Force since 2003.
Thank you to the Exchange Bank for financing our build, Jimmy Ladwig with Ladco for helping me through the entire project, Blake Mullet with R and M Dirt Work, Bolding Electric, OK Spray Foam, Peter Tobin with WB containers and many others who helped us build our new business. We are looking forward to being a bigger part of Oklahoma agriculture and raising our family in the Perry community while providing a quality service.
